(I-SoftwareNews.Com, April 12, 2013 ) ChristianSteven has released CSSPortal 2.0, a dynamic browser based Crystal Reports and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) on demand reporting tool.
CSSPortal is designed to be a browser based system for users to generate and view reports on demand. The reports can be saved as PDF or Excel files or stored in CSSPortal for later viewing. The system can be accessed either from a user’s workstation or mobile devices. CSSPortal can installed in the customer’s technology infrastructure where the customer can serve reports internally or externally.
CSSPortal 2.0 introduces new features including support for SSRS reports. With this capability, reporting administrators can serve SQL reports to users both inside and outside of the business. Another new feature known as Smart Views, enable reporting administrators to create unique report configurations on a user by user basis. Now report parameters, credentials and other settings can be uniquely configured for specific users.
“The latest version of CSSPortal enables us to satisfy an even wider range of reporting needs,” Says Johnathan Lucky, Product Manager at ChristianSteven Software. “Now reporting administrators can serve both Crystal and SSRS reports to users within the same interface. Smart Views allow admins to tailor report instances to specific users, giving them more flexibility in how reports are published.”
Lucky points out that this multiplatform capability can be critical for firms with multiple reporting environments, or are transitioning from Crystal Reports to SSRS reports and vice versa.
CSSPortal was first released in December of 2012. Since then, CSSPortal’s feature set has grown to include multiple report formats, report auto caching, and the ability to auto calculate date/time parameters. On April XX, 2013, CSSPortal 2.0 was released for online distribution via the ChristianSteven Website. and is available for both new and existing customers.
