(I-SoftwareNews.Com, May 10, 2014 ) Cupertino, California -- Net-Translators, a leading provider of technical translation, localization and multilingual testing services, announced it will exhibit and host technical sessions at this year's STC Technical Communication Summit to be held May 18-21 in Phoenix, Arizona. Net-Translators Director of Strategic Operations, David Sommer, will co-host a joint session with BMC Software Staff Information Developer and Localization Coordinator, Gina Goodson Wadley; and Net-Translators Director of Localization Strategy, Dorothy van Lingen, will present. The company will exhibit in booth #211.
Mr. Sommer's session, entitled Unraveling the Mysteries of Localization Kits for Translation Projects, will be held in Room 104 AB on Tuesday, May 20 from 2:15 to 3:00 pm. In this session, presenters will explain the purpose of creating a localization kit, show examples of kits from various companies, review the consequences of not providing good kits, explain the difference between a translation contract and a Statement of Work, and more. They will provide: guidelines for creating a kit and questions to ask during preparation, samples of product documentation from a translation project and UI strings to be translated, and worksheets for analyzing project samples.
Also on Tuesday from 4:15 to 5:00 pm, Mrs. van Lingen's session entitled Preparing to Manage Terminology for Localization will be held in Room 101C. This presentation will give an in-depth overview of how to prepare terminology for localization projects. Topics to be covered include: defining terminology, the importance of terminology, cultural impacts, financial benefits, processes and tools, and implementing terminology in the localization workflow.
In addition, Net-Translators staff will also be on-hand in the Net-Translators booth (#211) during exhibit hours and at all event receptions to help attendees understand the many time, cost, and quality benefits of enlisting professional translation and localization services.
