(EMAILWIRE.COM, December 01, 2009 ) LONDON — Alfresco Software, Inc. today announced the opening of an Asia Pacific Support Center based in Syndey, Australia. The Support Center will commence operations in January 2010, enabling Alfresco to deliver follow-the-sun Support and offer enhanced service level agreement (SLA) of Gold and Platinum support subscriptions to its local and global customers in the APAC region.
“The Asia Pacific Support Center will complement our existing Support Centers in the US and UK. It will provide a local interface for Alfresco Enterprise subscription customers and our local SI Partners,” said John Powell, CEO of Alfresco Software. “In 2009 we have experienced a growing demand for global enterprise deployments of Alfresco and can now offer follow-the-sun Support.”
Heading up the APAC Support Center is Ward van Besien, who has joined Alfresco as Technical Support Manager for APAC. Previously van Besien was at PANACHE Corporation in Japan where, as CTO, he helped build the outsourcing division of PANACHE Corporation, a local IT service provider targeting multinational corporations. Van Besien brings a wealth of experience in managing customer support, outsourced services and project management. Van Besien also held the position of head of IT at UBSÂ’ investment banking division in Tokyo.
“The APAC economies are growing rapidly and we believe that an increased presence will further improve customer satisfaction, drive increased sales and contribute substantially to the growth of Alfresco in Asia,” commented Ward van Besien, APAC technical support manager. “With our Support Center in Sydney I am confident we will be able to contribute to the success of Alfresco as the leading open source ECM solution as well as provide an even better level of support to our customers.”
Alfresco Enterprise subscription customers in the Asia Pacific region include a wide range of industry sectors as well as education and government clients, such as Allianz Australia Services Pty Limited, Curtin University of Technology, Japanese Airlines, IT Frontier (a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation), Sensis, Sygmaxyz, and Toyota Motor Corporation Australia.
