(EMAILWIRE.COM, October 19, 2010 ) SAN DIEGO, CA, and LAS VEGAS, NV, October 19, 2010 –The Technology Services Industry Association (TSIA)—the leading association dedicated to advancing the business of technology services—released a new report in conjunction with its Technology Services World conference being held October 18-20 at The Mirage Resort in Las Vegas. The report, titled “Cloudprem: What You Must Know Before Making the Transition from On-Premise to Cloud-Based (or On-Demand) Services,” suggests that jumping too rapidly into the cloud services space can be perilous without being armed with with the correct information. Based on lessons learned from organizations that have navigated this path and successfully arrived at their desired end point, this report draws upon their accomplishments.
“This report highlights numerous areas of concern within multiple functional areas of support services that must be taken into consideration prior to embarking on a transition from on-premise service offerings to cloud, on-demand, or SaaS-based service offerings if the endeavor is to be made as successfully as possible,” said Tim Flannery, senior director of research and advisory support services for TSIA. “For the good of their own organizations, as well as for their current and future customers, support executives must think and plan holistically and cross-functionally long before embarking upon such a transition.”
Flannery presented on this topic during a TSW breakout session this morning. Attendees learned several of TSIAÂ’s recommendations for making this transition, including identifying future-state goals (and planning to achieve them individually), identifying areas of strength and opportunity beforehand, and asking for assistance when itÂ’s needed.
TSW events have a strong reputation for delivering a solid program filled with impactful content, presented by key players in technology services. Visit www.technologyservicesworld.com for more information on the event. More information on the report can be found at www.tsia.com.
