(I-SoftwareNews.Com, May 06, 2013 ) SAN DIEGO and SANTA CLARA -- Hosted by the Technology Services Industry Association (TSIA), the leading association for today’s technology services organizations, Technology Services World 2013 Best Practices commenced today in Santa Clara, California, with high attendance from leading players in the technology services industry.
TechFUTURES opened up the conference—a much-anticipated inaugural event that gave attendees a firsthand glimpse into the near-term future of technology services. Pivotal topics of discussion included social media, knowledge/content management, mobility, and the customer experience.
Following the afternoon luncheon, TSIA vice president of technology research John Ragsdale hosted the TechBEST Showcase—a tour of the most cutting-edge technology and services on the TSW EXPO floor. The tour focused on the spring 2013 TechBEST finalists (winners will be announced on Day Three of TSW).
The opening keynote was delivered by TSIA executive director Thomas Lah on the topic of “Best-in-Class Performance for Technology Services Businesses: What Defines It. What Drives It.” Audience members connected with Lah’s impactful discussion, as he drove home key practices that are required to achieve best-in-class performance in today’s services-led business environment.
Following were eight concurrent “Power Hour” sessions, where TSIA research executives presented results from recent TSIA research in the areas of education services, field services, managed services, operational best practices, professional services, service revenue generation, support services, and service technology.
New to TSW Best Practices was the “Pacetter” track, featuring 13 powerful presentations from leading-edge companies who are achieving best-in-class results in their services businesses. These were true how-to sessions on driving strategy and success in specific focus areas of the business.
At the close of the day, delegates were welcomed back into the TSW EXPO for a networking reception to mingle with peers and talk with some of today’s leading technology solutions providers. Following the reception, TSW will host MusicFest, a relaxing evening of peer networking with the backdrop of great live music.
