(EMAILWIRE.COM, October 20, 2009 ) San Diego, CA, October 20, 2009 – Women in Services, a community of interest developed by the Technology Services Industry Association (TSIA), the technology services industry’s largest and most vibrant association, gathered for a networking dinner at the Technology Services World (TSW) conference in Las Vegas. The dinner session provided an opportunity for the group to discuss their role in driving the technology services and support industry forward in today’s challenging economic climate.
The TSW conference is the preeminent source of learning and peer networking networking in the services industry and is hosted by TSIA. TSIA is newly formed from the just-announced merger of AFSMI, SSPA, and TPSA, the three leading professional associations of the services and support industry.
Women in Services was created earlier this year to provide a unique and dedicated forum for professional members of the associations. The Women in Services steering committee includes senior executives from globally recognized industry leaders Approva Global Customer Solutions, BMC Software, Cisco Systems, Digital Hands, EMC, Exigen Elite, Hewlett-Packard, Hitachi Data Systems, Informatica, Intergraph, NCR, rL Solutions, salesforce.com, Sun Microsystems, and Xerox Corporation.
“As the only organization to bring together such prestigious industry thought leaders, we’ve cultivated a dedicated group of executives who are committed to their peers, evident in the valuable content that was developed by the group for the TSW conference,” said Diane Brundage, senior vice president of membership development for TSIA.
Noted technology business legal expert Helen Leah Conroy, J.D., was the keynote speaker at the networking dinner, presenting “Five Things Every Woman Should Know to Become a Successful Negotiator.” The dinner raised funds and awareness for Women in Services’ official non-profit benefit organization, Dress for Success.
Events at TSW also included a “Profiles of Success” panel discussion and a presentation on “Professional Development: Selling Your Ideas,” featuring Roslyn Jones, vice president of global education services, Informatica.
For those executives interested in participating, more information on Women in Services can be found at the TSW Web site and in online communities through the Technology Services Forum, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter.
