(EMAILWIRE.COM, January 07, 2010 ) San Diego, CA – Women in Services, a community of interest developed by the Technology Services Industry Association (TSIA)—the technology services industry’s largest and most vibrant association—gathered in October for a networking dinner at Technology Services World (TSW) 2009 Las Vegas, during which funds were raised for charity organization Dress for Success San Diego. TSIA raised a significant amount at the event, the proceeds of which will go directly to Dress for Success San Diego.
The Women in Services group was created earlier this year to provide a a unique and dedicated forum for professional members of TSIA. The dinner session was an opportunity for the group to not only come together to discuss their role in driving the technology services industry forward, but also to raise proceeds in support of Dress for Success San Diego.
The mission of Dress for Success San Diego is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support, and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.
“Women in Services is the fastest-growing community of interest in TSIA,” said Diane Brundage, TSIA senior vice president of membership development and head of Women in Services. “With such leading organizations as Approva, BMC, Cisco, Digital Hands, EMC, Exigen Elite, Hitachi Data, HP, Informatica, Intergraph, Microsoft, NCR, rL Solutions, salesforce.com, Symantec, Sun, and Xerox represented on our steering committee, we have strong leadership in place who are proud to be doing the right thing for women and the services community in general.”
“We are grateful to Women in Services for this generous contribution,” said Sylvia McKinney, executive director of Dress for Success San Diego. “Women in Services shares our commitment to helping women succeed in the workplace and in life. The funds raised at this event will help dozens of our clients prepare for job interviews and take advantage of our exclusive programs devoted to job retention, career planning, and life management.”
