(EMAILWIRE.COM, March 22, 2010 ) SAN DIEGO, CA, March 19, 2010 – The Technology Services Industry Association (TSIA), the technology services industry’s largest and most vibrant association, has launched their Member Technology Survey for 2010. This annual study, conducted by John Ragsdale, TSIA vice president of technology research, documents what application areas are seeing the highest levels of interest, adoption, and satisfaction across 24 functional categories of services and support technology.
The 2010 survey, the associationÂ’s fourth annual technology survey, has been expanded with new questions to capture data concerning several industry trends, including converging infrastructure for knowledge management, intelligent search, enterprise CRM, and Web collaboration across technical support, professional services, and field service. New technology areas tracked by the 2010 survey include learning management/e-learning, telephony platforms, and reporting/analytic platforms. In addition, for the first time the survey will capture member adoption and satisfaction with service providers/outsourcers and industry business consultants.
The survey findings will be announced at the Technology Services World conference, May 3-5 in Santa Clara, California, and released in multiple publications to TSIA corporate members, including an update to the annual TSIA “Heatmap,” which documents adoption of technology by functional module, and the annual TSIA Member Spending Report, which details technology areas with the highest planned spending across all service disciplines.
“Last year, during the low point of the economic collapse, TSIA members still had strong planned spending in multiple areas, including social media platforms, search tools, and Web collaboration products,” said Ragsdale. “In the 2010 survey, I expect to see increased adoption in several areas; I’m predicting close to 70 percent of members will now have a customer discussion forum in place, up from 57 percent last year.”
The survey also collects member satisfaction with the service technology they are currently using, which Ragsdale uses in TSIA member inquiries. “When a member company is trying to select among a short list of vendors, having satisfaction ratings from peer companies for the tools makes a tough decision much easier,” Ragsdale added.
The 2010 TSIA Member Technology Survey is open to all service professionals, including TSIA corporate and community members. Everyone who completes the survey will receive a copy of RagsdaleÂ’s 2010 Member Spending Report, and the first 50 people to complete the survey will receive a $5 Starbucks gift card.
