(EMAILWIRE.COM, January 29, 2012 ) Las Vegas, Nevada -- The miniTek wireless remote streamer created by Siemens Hearing Instruments was one of the ten finalists in the Bluetooth SIG Seventh Annual Best of CES Awards. The miniTek was also a winner in the esteemed Fan Favorite Awards.
Participants have noted that a record number of entries were submitted in the 2012 Bluetooth SIG Best of CES Awards. To be part of the ten finalists in the long list of submissions this year is already quite an honor. Having won in the Fan Favorite Awards is quite a distinction as well.
The criteria used to evaluate each product that was submitted for the awards this year were no less stringent. Innovation, ease of use, look and design, and ultimately interoperability were some of the standards that needed to be met by each entry.
Of course, the consumers themselves had the opportunity to pick their favorites since social media was chosen as the medium for them to cast their votes in the Bluetooth SIG Fan Favorite Award. The people had a chance to vote for their favorite during the weeks that lead to CES 2012.
The miniTek Strong Points
The idea behind the miniTek is clear cut and simple. People who had hearing challenges used to blast their stereo or TV just to hear the voices, music, and other sounds coming from these devices. This one of a kind audio streamer resolves this issue and improves the quality of life of people who use hearing instruments.
The miniTek is a multifunctional device since itÂ’s both an audio streamer and a remote control. It connects the userÂ’s hearing instruments to multiple devices simultaneously adding further functionality. Users can connect their phones, mp3 players, TV, computer, mobile phone, Bluetooth enabled landline phone, and other mobile devices all at once to a userÂ’s hearing instrument. It can receive and transmit audio signals to and from these devices.
ItÂ’s small and stylish and is pretty discreet. Its one touch controls make it very easy to use. The volume controls are right on the front along with the program controls. The start and end call button is also conveniently placed at a particular corner at the front. The standby and power buttons are right on the top, making them easy to reach. It also has a direct audio plug and line in to allow other devices to be connected as well through software.
The best part of course is the sound quality. The audio signals are transmitted to both ears in true stereo. The miniTek also supports completely in the canal hearing instruments. Users should take note that this multifunctional audio streamer and remote control should be positioned within 60 centimeters of the userÂ’s hearing instruments. That is usually somewhere between a userÂ’s ears and waist. Users can clip the miniTek on their clothing or use a lanyard to wear the device around their neck.
Since this device can work with almost any Bluetooth enabled device, there are multiple possibilities for which it can be used. Battery life is not so much of an issue since the device can run for five hours straight before requiring a recharge. It only takes three hours to recharge the batteries.
